Pakistan, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, could only muster 127/9 in 20 overs. Their innings lacked sustained partnerships, though Shaheen Shah Afridi’s late-innings assault gave the total some respectability. India's chase
In reply, Abhishek Sharma set the tone with a blazing 31 off 13 balls, punishing the new ball and putting pressure on Pakistan immediately. Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian captain, anchored the chase with an assured knock and good shot selection, ensuring India crossed the line without loss of momentum.
Pakistan lost early momentum when Indian bowlers struck in the powerplay. The middle overs were equally punishing – spin stifled scoring, and regular wickets prevented any batter from building a match-defining partnership. Though Shaheen’s late hitting provided some fireworks, by then the foundation of India’s control was firmly laid.
